Melody of New Hope discovers young talent at ERM Hope VTC

Young people at ERM Hope VTC in Masaka Sector, Kicukiro District, Kigali City, had an opportunity to showcase their talents during a Talent Competition organized by Melody of New Hope (MNH). The event, known as MNH Talent Detection, brought together students who had spent time preparing and training with coaches in different disciplines. The competition provided a platform for students to demonstrate their creativity, confidence and abilities while encouraging them to pursue positive activities.

Students competed in four main categories: Traditional Dance, Fashion Modeling, Singing and Modern Dance. At the end of the competition, winners in each category were recognized for their outstanding performances and received a prize of RWF 160,000.

Promoting Talent and Positive Youth Development

The event was attended by several leaders and invited guests, including Adrien Misigaro, CEO of Melody of New Hope, and Pastor Emmanuel Sitaki, founder of ERM Rwanda, alongside other representatives and guests.

Speaking during the event, Adrien misigaro emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for young people to discover and develop their talents.  Through activities such as music, dance, sports and other creative disciplines, students can develop confidence, discipline, teamwork and skills that can contribute to their future careers. Talent Detection initiative is part of a broader effort to identify young people with special abilities and provide them with encouragement, mentorship and opportunities to develop their potential.

Using Talent Development to Fight Drug Abuse

Beyond competition and entertainment, the program also carries an important social message.

Melody of New Hope uses talent-development activities as a way of engaging young people in constructive activities while raising awareness about the dangers of drug and substance abuse. Melody of New Hope believe that providing youth with opportunities to participate in sports, music, dance, modeling and other creative activities can help them make positive choices and focus on building their futures.

The initiative therefore combines talent discovery, mentorship, youth empowerment and drug-abuse prevention, creating an environment where students can express themselves while learning important lessons about responsible choices.

Investing in the Future of Rwanda’s Youth

The Talent Detection competition at ERM Hope VTC is part of a series of activities that Melody of New Hope organizes in educational institutions to identify and encourage young talents. By bringing coaches, educators, leaders and students together, the organization seeks to create pathways through which talented young people can receive continued support and guidance.

The event demonstrated that schools can serve not only as places of academic learning but also as important spaces for discovering talents and helping young people develop skills that can shape their future. For the participating students, the competition was more than an opportunity to win prizes. It was a chance to be seen, express their talents, gain confidence and take another step toward realizing their potential.

Melody of New Hope says it will continue supporting initiatives that empower young people, promote positive lifestyles and help students turn their talents into opportunities for a better future.
