RDC | Minembwe

Minembwe is a group of several villages located in the highlands of the Fizi Territory, in the South Kivu Province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

It is situated at an altitude of about 2,500 meters above sea level, in a hilly and mountainous region covered with forests, which provides fertile land for agriculture.

It is approximately 150 kilometers south of Bukavu, the capital city of South Kivu. The region is also home to various streams and rivers that flow into Lake Tanganyika, the second-deepest lake in the world.

Kibembe is the most commonly spoken language in Minembwe, followed by Swahili, which is prevalent in most of the sector centers. However, other minority populations speak their own vernacular languages. Source -Wikipedia

Why We Took Our Mission to the Residents of Minembwe?

Melody Of New Hope took steps to give greater hope and life transformation to the people of Minembwe in RDC, where Adrien spent his childhood. Minembwe is characterized by ethnic discrimination, war, and poverty, so great effort is needed to raise children in peace.Unity and reconciliation are encouraged among the citizens.

Melody of New Hope, in collaboration with various donors, was able to bring a community of different tribes together by building Gisoki Church. We also built an orphanage that accommodates more than 250 Children who are now able to access basic life needs including education, nutrition, clothing, and safe housing.

Many families still lack food, basic medical care, clothing, and resources to school their children.

Your help sustains our mission in Minembwe and our goal will be achieved. Click here to donate our works.

Tomorrow Begins Today” is the motto that captures our vision for the Melody of New Hope [MNH] mission. Its origin is in the Book of Joshua (4:9): “After crossing the River Jordan, God commanded Joshua to set up twelve stones collected from the middle of the River Jordan where the priests who carried the Ark of the Covenant had stood.”

These stones were to be a memorial for what God had done in liberating the Hebrew people from slavery in Egypt. They would manifest the goodness of the Lord and show how merciful and gracious He was to them. The stones set up by today’s generation for future generations were God’s reminder to Joshua that ‘tomorrow begins today’.
